ENGAGED

Well, welcome to this little blog of mine! I decided that since I'm a young, LDS, engaged girl that the only thing to do was to start a blog... so here I am filling that stereotype.

I had a blog about 2 years ago now and let me just say, I hope this one is far better then the other.

My goal for this blog is to document all of the good things in life so that I can have this little spot online where I can look back at and smile at all of the wonderful things ahead of me. I have always loved my life, even before getting engaged and before meeting my fiancé.. But to be honest, now it's just a little more exciting because I get to share it so soon with my best friend.

T H E  S T O R Y

On the day that we got engaged >>12.18.2013<< I told this story probably 50 times. Let me tell you, I sort of got sick of telling it over and over and over again. Not because I don't love the story, just because it's sort of a long one.

Let's start off by saying that I ruined Sam's previous 2 plans for proposing. Plan A was to take me to Utah and propose with some of my family there. Plan B was supposed to happen the day before he actually proposed. But, regardless, Plan C was meant to be.

Jessica, my future sister-in-law had lent me her camera and was coming by Sam's apartment to pick it up. I wasn't going to see her for a while so she and Sam suggested we "go do something". Jess + Sam told me that their sister Emily had gotten proposed to at Nature Park (in Rexburg, Idaho) and that her husband, Don had carved their initials in some tree. Sam + Jess wanted to find the tree and take a picture in front of it to tease Don + Emily.. At least that is what they told me.

We get to Nature Park and the whole entire pond- that usually has ducks in it and dogs running around it- was completely frozen over. Me, being from Southern California, always thought skating or walking on a frozen over pond was the scariest thing in the world (thanks to the movie Little Women). But we ventured down there and started to take a few pictures of our activities when all of a sudden Sam calls me over to look at "this cool video".

The video was the S W E E T E S T thing I had ever seen. Sam had put together a timeline of our relationship. Starting from the first time we met, to our trip to San Francisco, then to our vacation to the Outer Banks, NC, then to our day in N.Y.C., then my tour of his home town; Baltimore, MD, our time exploring Salt Lake City, and our 15 hour road trip to Mesa, AZ. It was the cutest thing. Ever.

I started to catch on once the video was about halfway through and my mind just went crazy. It was like I was paralyzed and in this like weird out of body experience. It was so odd. He stopped the video, I said "Stoppppp", he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said "Yes, of course," + he said he didn't have a ring. I knew he was  bluffing so I just said "Shut up, yes you do."

It was the best.
